Today was fun! I almost squeezed a short training session in to my day, knowing I was on the 5pm class at CrossFit Napalm. I'm glad I didn't! The 5pm class had just enough of everything i needed.

15 Double Unders to finish each round
I completed the round of 12, and managed 10 burpees in the round of 15. My back seized up quite badly in the round of 6, so I took my foot off the gas considerably, and focused on moving well. Even with this adjustment, it was still a gassy workout! Knowing when something is tight from moving slightly out of position, versus the start of an injury is a fine line, and I wouldn't want to dish out advice here by any means, but this is an issue I've had in the past when there's a lot of hip flexion in the workout when the lumbar is also required to bear load. Ultimately it comes down to my hip flexors shortening, pulling my pelvis forwards, and my abs not being able to counteract the tilt. With the right approach for a couple of days now, this will be in the rearview mirror as just a challenging workout.
I didn't use the equipment at my own gym today, but I was very grateful to snag my favourite Bulldog gear bar to lift with at Napalm. Click the image to get yours, use TH5 to save!
Today was a really good food day, in spite of some mishaps! Hard won victories always taste a little sweeter - or not - as you will see!
At 7am I had 3 rashers of bacon, 2 very large fried eggs and some smoked salmon, with a small handful of berries.
At 1pm I had half a jacket sweet potato topped with pulled slow cooked beef and cheese.
At 4pm I had a kiwi.
At 7:30pm I had half a jacket sweet potato topped with mice and cheese. I wasn't planning on having the potato again, but I realised when cooking that I had no fruit to follow! This is also why I had a little pulled beef and halloumi after my main course, to avoid hunger later!
