As a general rule, I observe that when I discuss training with people, I seem to enjoy the act of working out more than most. I don't believe that's an innate proclivity though, I believe it's a byproduct of having trained with purpose for so long now. That said, even I notice a real shift from the low days, when I'm going through the motions, to the high days when I spend all day looking forward to my session, visualising how I'll lift, or run, and adding the finishing touches to the details of my plan. Today was one of the high days. This was undoubtedly due to the weather above anything else. My performance wasn't great, my session wasn't overly exciting on paper, but the opportunity to train outside always cheers me up. I trained twice today; one main session at around 2pm, and another small session at 4:30pm.
20 Minute AMRAP:
Run 200m Barefoot
5 Strict Pull-Ups
10 Push-Ups
5 Strict Pull-Ups
10 Push-Ups
I got 10 full rounds plus a 150m run.
This was great fun. I took my freestanding pull-up bad from Gravity Fitness to a big field in the sun, stripped to my shorts, and went for it. Getting a total of 100 pull-ups and 200 push-ups into a 20 minute window was satisfying, for now, but these are just the foundation for the weighted ones to come. Starting to accumulate volume under aerobic fatigue is important now that some base has been built.

The star of today's show was the freestanding pull-up station from Gravity Fitness. I also used their maces in the warm-up for my bench press piece later on.
