Physical Freedom 49/365 - 20220221

Today was average. I feel like people are disappointed with any session that isn't fantastic, but to echo my sentiments from today's Instagram post, most days are, by definition, average! By expecting every session to be great, or break records, you are setting yourself up for disappointment. Average days are the ones I live for, the great days are just the icing on top! Okay, there were a couple of disappointing lifts today, but on the whole, it was okay. I stuck to the plan, hit the basics, and the session served its purpose. I trained for around an hour and twenty minutes, starting at around 3pm.

Sled

5 Minutes alternating every 25m between forwards and backwards

3 Rounds:

10 Poliquin Steps Per leg -4"

10 Nordic Curl Pulses

1 Squat Clean + 1 Front Squat + 2 Jerks

Find max - I hit 110kg with ease (which I would expect to) but missed the second jerk at 120kg. I tried the lift again, but the clean felt off coming from the floor, so I made the call to leave it there.

Safety Squat Bar Slant Board Squats

3x3 92kg + 34kg Chains (126kg at the top)

These were hard, very hard, but it gave me a great sense of satisfaction getting through them!

3 Rounds

10 Dumbbell Romanian Deadlifts 2x22.5kg

10 Reverse Nordics

3 Rounds

20 Sec L-Sit Hang

3 Grip Closes Per Hand CoC 1.5

Equipment:

I used a couple of bits some people might not have seen before, so I'll link them below.

Food

A pretty standard food day today. I had breakfast at 7am, which was a heap of bacon, 4 scrambled eggs, half an avocado and some cherry tomatoes.

At 1pm I had mince cooked with chilli and garlic, topped with a little cheese.

At 7:30pm I had an orange and a banana, because I forgot earlier!

For my meal this evening I plan to have a rump steak, an egg or two, and some homemade potato wedges!
